Forseeing change is at present the eco area of activity, as more and more new inventions are launched for Spring and we see many, all the best way to use energy, the newest technology and the best value or one-off purchase for life.

This is confusing as the consumer needs to assess their personal needs as they embrace this new wave. For instance, a solar panel that ONLY heats water and does not conserve heat apart from a tank that cools down, is acceptable, in that the energy for this is minimal (the reader for the temperature of the water) but a tank system with a panel that also runs an element to MAINTAIN the heat of the water, in what can be an unlagged, outside, large volume, tank can be just as costly as the electric bills you had before...

Our advice: Check the method of energy use, as each new advance at the moment means there may be a better solution for you!

The Birds and The Bees

This week we have been once again looking at the ecological situation in the world, currently giving a lot of food for thought.
As well as the relevance of the Sun we consider the effect on plants and wildlife, and on the YouTube channel we look at bees, and the current research into their recent population fluctuations.
We can see from the movement of moths, aphids and ladybirds how climate is confusing wildlife in a way that could be detrimental and not just to getting good roses when we want them!
We are already referring to Mr Gore's film (An Inconvenient Truth) to see where we are up to in case it is imminent that we will need to move!

Looking at what is happening in climate change and how new fuels can change how the planet reacts is ananswer, and in France they are producing a car that runs on compressed air.

Following the website www.interes.org indexed growth in Spanish opportunity is evident and strong. Large projects such as General Motors' Solar Roof in Zaragoza prove that businesses can benefit from becoming more lateral in the first quarter 2009.
Other novelties include Ernst and Young's 'Attractiveness Index' for new enterprise citing Spain as a stepping stone to the future, in 2008.

The database of courses available in 'Medio Ambiente', Ecology and Applications such as Organic Plantation, Sustainability and Climate Change is growing.

Spain and the Database

This week we start by looking at processes and function of ecological design: Does it work and how?
Solar Power works by harnessing the heat or the energy of the sun. However there are various ways of doing this.
Many Panels work by capilliary action, that is by heating water in tiny tubes under the surface of the panels and storing the heated water. A very simple and effective method if you have plenty of clear sunshine.
This is also used in the same way to heat interiors by piping the hot water to radiators around the dwelling or environment.
This works very well for Southern Climates and especially in Spain and the Costa del Sol.
It is one of the subsidised forms of solar heating offered for new build and renovation of homes in Andalucia.
We feature one of the newest projects and most impressive, that of the Sun Tower in Seville which proved the possibility of commercial value and energy supply that could be sold on to other cities, even abroad.

Spain has been unprecedented in its advancement with Ecology, Renewable Energy and Techniques tested for some years.
It is this value that has prompted Businesses to Invest in Spain ..

The Good News Update

The Ecoworkshops database is building and advancing. We are fielding calls and emails from the field sector for exhibition in Spain (principally Marbella) and then to connect with other groups and develop understanding and benchmarks for the products and services available.
The overwhelming need is information about the degree to which a product is ecological and what are its advantages and disadvantages. Even disdvantages can still be better than the alternative, non-ecological version.
Areas we are contacting presently are foods, sanitation, and information, as we are preparing courses in the subjects related, working with professionals and teachers in Marbella for ecotourism, hospitality, and recycling.

Spain has proved the most advanced in this field again in 2008, selling 80% of its products in the ecological market to Germany. (SurinEnglish Dec 2008)
We welcome suggestions of products to include and submissions of information and latest developments.

Update December 2008

In the new year we work toward an exhibition of New Ecology, an intergrated service-based endeavour toward the best economic, ecologic and recycling practise and products available.
The database we are collating forms part of the project and the exhibitors can choose to take a stand, give a seminar or lecture and/or be involved with sponsorship for promotion during the event.
The event is so far scheduled for Spring 2009, in Marbella, Spain.

Welcome to the new page for current activities for ECOWORKS.
Presently we are promoting awareness of projects that are outstanding, innovative efforts towards integration and world community development.

We are creating an online database for reference information; contacts, projects and development in world ecology.
Eco is a prefix from the greek signifying exclusion amongst other things and we feel the people involved with these many unintegrated areas are deserving of a forum.

This information and listing service is free, we retain a waiting list and once approved each listing is added.
We work with exhibitions, promotors and projects related, so that we can periodically offer stands, space and advertising to the listed entities.

Currently we are working with DESIGN ART TRADE SL located in Marbella, Spain who hold prestigious events and exhibitions up and down the Costa Del Sol, Malaga and Madrid.

We also offer translation to most european languages for charities free, if not at very low rates.
